Composition:
Each tablet contains : Ambroxol HCl................ 30 mg
Each 5 ml syruo contains : Ambroxol HCl .............. 15 mg
Ethanol .......................... 3.5%
Pharmacology:
Mucolica as mucolytic agent with mukokinetic and secretolytic properties. Mucolica stimulates the liquid secretions by mucous glands of the respiratory thact and the cleavage of excessive glycoprotein acid fibers in the sputum. Mucolica as a mucolytic expectorant used in bronchitis and other disturbances of the respiratory tract.
Indications :
Acute and chronic disturbances of the respiratory tract accompanied by excessive bronchial secretions, particularly in exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis and bronchial asthma.
Posology :
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
The recommended dosage for children is 1.2 - 1.6 mg/kg body weigth/day, except when decided otherwise by the physician.
Children:
5 - 12 years:1/2 tablet 2 - 3 times daily.
5 ml (1 teaspoonful), 2 - 3 times daily.
2 - 5 years:2.5ml ( 1/2 teaspoonful), 3 times daily.
Under 2 years of age : 2.5ml (1/2 teaspoonful), 2 times daily.
The drug should be taken after meals.
Overdosage :
Symptomatic treatment should be given in case of overdosage.
Warning / precaution :
Mucolica is not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Adverse reaction :
- Hypersensitive individuals.
- Mild gastrointestinal disturbances
Contraindications :
- Hypersensitivity to ambroxol
