enteric coated tablet contains : Ketoprofen 50 mg

enteric coated tablet contains : Ketoprofen 100 mg
Each PROFIKA suppository
contains : Ketoprofen 100 g
Mode of Action :
Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti - inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic properties. It exerts its action by inhibiting synthesis
of prostaglandin.
With the suppository form, the peak blood level is achieved at 1-2 hours after administration, with an elimination half-life of 2-3 hours.
Indications :
For the symptomatic management of rheumatoid arthritis , ankylosing spondilitis, acute gout and osteoarthritis.
Posology :
1suppository to be inserted in rectum at night.
Warnings Precautions :
• Use with caution in patients with gastric hyperacidity
• Exercise caution in pregnant women and nursing mothers.
• Exercise caution also in using this drug for patients with dysfunction
Adverse Reactions :
• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, constipation, peptic ulcer, dizziness, headache, light confusion, hemorrhagic perforation, rash, impairment of renal function, abdominal pain
Contraindications :
• Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen, acetosal and other NSAIDs.
• Patients with peptic ulcer or acute inflammation of the digestive tract
• Patients with severe renal and liver dysfunction
• Patients with proctitis accompanied by hemorrhoid
Drug Interactions :
• Concurrent therapy with warfarin, sulphonylurea or hydantoin may increase prothrombin time and cause GI bleeding
• Concomitant administration with methotrexate has been reported to result in a dangerous interaction, probably due to inhibition of secretion.
Overdosage :
Adverse reactions observed after overdosage: hypotension, bronchospasms, gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
Administer symptomatic and supportive treatment.
