Composition :
Each tablet containts Ofloxacin 200mg & Ofloxacin 400mg
Indication :
- Serious infections of the upper and lower urinary tract.
Gonococcal and non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis.
- Lower respiratory tract infections except those due to
streptococci.
- Gynaecological infections.
- Skin and soft tissue infections
Dosage :
1. Lower respiratory tract infections : 200 – 600 mg daily
in 1 to 3 divided doses for 3 – 10 days. Severe or complicated infections Up to 800 mg/daily for not more than 20 days.
2. Urinary tract infections : 100 – 400 mg daily in 1 to 2 divided doses for 1 – 10 days. Severe or complicated infections : Up to 600 mg/daily for not more than 20 days.
3. Skin and soft tissue infections : 400 mg daily for 7 days.
4. Uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis single dose
of 100-400 mg.
5. Non-gonococcal urethritis : 400 mg daily for 9 days.
Adverse Reactions :
- Gastrointestinal disturbances : nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea and anorexia.
- Central nervous systems : headache, insomnia.
- Hypersensitivity reactions : pruritus, rash, excema.
- Abnormalities of hepatic function tests : elevation of SGOT, SGPT, alkaline phospatase, total bilirubin.
- Hematologic : leukopenia, decrease in erytrocytes, platelets, Hb, Ht, eosinophilia.
