Composition :
- Hyperchol 100 : Each capsule contains Fenofibrate 100 mg.
- Hyperchol 300 : Each capsule contains Fenofibrate 300 mg.
- Hyperchol 200M Each capsule contains Fenofibrate 200 mg.
Indications :
Adults Hypercholesterolemia (type Iia) and endogenous hypertriglyceridemia (type IV) or associated types (IIb and III) : When an appropriate diet regimen fails to produces a satisfactory lipid response, especially when in spite of the diet, the blood cholesterol level remains high and/or when associated factors are present. The diet should be continued in addition to administration of medicamentation.
Dosage :
Adults : 300 mg i.e. 1 capsule of 300 mg or 3 capsules of 100 mg daily. When in spite of hypolipidemic diet, the cholesterol level remains above 4 g/l, the dosage may be increased to 400 mg, i.e. 4 capsule of 100 mg a day. As the lipid concentrations return to normal, a maintenance dose of 200 mg daily can be recommended. The dosage must be increased to 300 mg a day if there is a rise in blood cholesterol level.
Adverse reactions :
Adverse reactions seldom occur (not more than 2% to 4% of cases). The following reactions have been reported :
- Digestive, gastro-intestinal disorders
- Elevated serum transaminase
- Allergic reactions of the skin
- Headache, vertigo, fatigue
