Composition :
Each tablet contains:Trimethoprim 80 mg, Sulfamethoxazole
400 mg.
Indications :
Gastrointestinal tract infections : typhoid and paratyphoid fever, cholera, enteritis.
Respiratory tract infections : acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, bacterial pneumonia. Genital infections of both sexes including gonorrhoea.
Skin infections : pyoderma, furuncles, abscesses and infected wounds.
Dosage :
Adults and children over 12 years : 2 tablets twice daily
Children 6 years to 12 years : 1 tablet twice daily.
Infants 6 months to 5 years : ½ tablet twice daily.
Infants 6 weeks to 6 months : ¼ tablet twice daily
In cases with renal inpairment the dosage should be adjusted accordingly.
Adverse reactions :
Gastrointestinal disturbances can occur. Blood dyscrasia has been observed in isolated cases. Rashes have been reported during Ikaprim therapy.
Presentation :
Boxes of 25 strips of 4 tablets each.
