Composition :
Trentin 0.05% : each grams contains Tretinoin 0.5 %
Trentin 0.1% : each grams contains Tretinoin 1 %
Pharmacology :
Although its mechanism has not been established, there is evidence that topical tretinoin lowers the tendency of follicle epithelial cells to stick together accompanied by reduced formation of microcomedos.
The drug enhances mitotic activity, renewing epithelial cells of the follicle.
Indications :
Trentin is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, reducing comedos, papules and pustules.
Posology :
Trentin cream should be applied to acne lesions once a day before retiring using only enough to cover the entire affected area lightly.
Adverse reactions :
The skin of sensitive individuals may experience redness, swelling, edema, or peeling. If these side effects are excessive, discontinue applications of the drug until skin intregity recover or adjust usage to level acceptable to the patient. Allergy due to contact has rarely been observed in the use of topical tretinoin.
Hyper or hypopigmentation of a temporary nature has been reported with repeated use of Trentin. Some patients were reported to show heightened burning susceptibility to sunlihgt during treatment with Trentin. So far all side effects of Trentin were shown to be reversible after discontinuation of treatment.
Contraindications :
This drug should be discontinued if hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients is noted.
Drug Interaction :
Products containing sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
